I know....how dare I mention it in November! I mention it because the nominations are now open for Parkes Shire Australia Day Awards.
Community Awards - recognising outstanding community members in the following categories:
Adult Citizen - over 25 years of age
Young Citizen - up to 25 years of age
Individuals or a Community Group for an event - two persons or more
Cultural Awards
The Parkes Shire Cultural Awards recognise excellence in the performing, visual, and creative arts and crafts in the following categories:
Student - up to and including students aged 18 years of age
Adult - over 18 years of age
Group - two persons or more
Environmental Award - new!
In 2018, the NSW Australia Day Council initiated a new award for 2019 Australia Day - Local Environmental Citizen of the Year. Parkes Shire Council is delighted to embrace this new award to recognise an individual or group contributing to our environmental preservation or advancing environmental awareness within the Shire.
