2018 is going to be a cracker!

Our Landcare calendar has been updated including our regular yearly events, special days of recognition and local and regional shows. Check it out here.

If you have any local events that you would like us to add to our calendar, please email Marg at

Happy New Year everyone! A warning to non-Elvis week lovers, this contains content that may cause offence, alarm and might get you All Shook Up.

Central West Lachlan Landcare are excited to be part of the Parkes Elvis Festival and are looking forward to catching up with visitors and locals in the week ahead.

The Landcare building is located at Kelly Reserve. During Elvis Week I will be switching the boots and pants for sling backs and skirts and I would love to catch up with you if you are in the area during the week or just with the kids visiting the park.

We will have water ice blocks and water available. I will also have the kettle on, so feel free to drop in for a cuppa and a delicious treat! We are just asking a donation and funds from these donations will be put towards increasing resources for our local schools in the Parkes and Forbes Shires. Festival Programs and Calendars can also be purchased.

is giving rural and regional NSW community organisations the chance to win funding and Euromaid appliances worth more than $20,000 to create or upgrade a community kitchen. The RASF Community Kitchen Grant is made up of a $10,000 cash grant which can be used to fund benches and cabinetry, along with at least $10,000 worth of state of the art appliances and white goods from Euromaid. ABC Radio Visit to Back Yamma & Cookamidgera
Today I had the pleasure of meeting the new Rural Reporter for ABC Radio, Tim Fookes, who was following up the story from November at Back Yamma and Cookamidgera when the area was hit by a isolated storm. We expect that Tim's story will be broadcast on ABC radio on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (8 & 9 January).

Since the event, we have submitted an application for the event to be declared a Agricultural Natural Disaster.

Find the initial story written after Member for Orange, Philip Donato visited the area here - dated 24/11/2017
