Welcome to our September Newsletter! I just wanted to say a big thank you to our drumMUSTER volunteers who helped out last Friday! You guys are legends! It is such a pleasure to spend time with you!
Amongst the information below, I have included a couple of quick surveys. I would really appreciate your feedback. Please send the link on to those who you think may not receive our newsletter but would be interested in being involved.
Costa Georgiadis is headed to Forbes!
We are looking forward to welcoming Costa to Forbes to present at Eco Day, which, in 2021, will be delivered in a new format to be able to cater for all Year 5 students in the Parkes and Forbes Shires...and our neighbours at Eugowra.
Over many years we have had requests from schools to be able to offer the day to more children and we have taken the step to make this happen...with a wonderful guest speaker, along with our many other talented presenters.
It's not just all for the kids! Costa is also our Key Note Speaker at our Landcare Dinner at Forbes Town Hall on 28 May...and will be joining us for the Forbes Riverside Garden Open Day on 29 May.
If you are interested in being involved any any of these events, either as a volunteer, or by attending, please fill in our Expression of Interest and we will add you to a contact list for Costa's visit next year.
Please note that if you are expressing interest to volunteer at Eco Day a Working With Children Check is essential. If you require a WWCC or need to renew, click here to go to the Office of the Children's Guardian Website to complete the application.
Gotcha4Life, Landcare NSW, Rural Adversity Mental Health Program and Surf Lifesaving NSW Partnership
Marg is pleased to be working with Gotcha4Life, Rural Adversity and Mental Health Program to bring Gotcha4Life Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman workshops to the Parkes and Forbes Shires. Find out more about this opportunity
Lachlan Valley National Parks Association Spring Walks
The Lachlan Valley National Parks Association have released their Spring Walks Calendar. Please note that the walk leader must be contacted the evening before the walk. Find our further details in our calendar link below.
A Wealth of Online Learning Available During the month ahead, there are a plethora of workshops and learning opportunities online...and they are FREE!
I have condensed all of the workshops that are relevant for our area that I could find in the article link below. They include Future Proof Your Business; Temporary and Permanent Grain Storage; Employment Support Webinars; Farm Business Skills and Powerful Pollinators.
Forbes Farmers Markets
I rarely miss the Forbes Farmers Markets. It is a fantastic opportunity to purchase locally produced food. This reduces km on the road, provides fresher food and is a great chance to talk to the producers. Remember, everyone is required to socially distance....and purchase what you require and keep moving. The next Market will be held at Victoria Park on Saturday, 26 September between 8am and 12pm.
