Gardening in Full Swing!

It sure has been hot out, but thank goodness for the thunderstorms! Our gardens have been loving all of the sunshine and rain (and we'll take more any time!)
Check out what we're up to below.

Manna Soup Kitchen 
The Manna Soup Kitchen garden is looking beautiful these days, so swing on by next time you're mountain biking in Test Tracks or taking the kids to the skatepark.

Feel free to join us every Wednesdays from 10-12 to help in the garden.

Needham Elementary School Garden

Is getting an overhaul! 
Originally 8 raised beds, the new garden will have 24 raised beds (one for each class) plus sensory gardens and interactive learning spaces. 

We need your help Saturday June 20th from  9 - 12 to stain cement for the Sun & Moon gardens, and smooth out pathways between the raised beds. Please come help! Email our Director if interested. 

Thank you to Scapegoat Landscaping for all of the earth moving and irrigation! We couldn't do it without you!

July Volunteer & Workshop Calendar

Ohana Kuleana Community Garden

35 families have joined as members of the new OKCG below Riverview Elementary and are already planting tomatoes, squash and more!

The OKCG was recently in the Durango Herald

Attend our workshop on Organic Pest & Weed Management presented by Darrin Parmenter of CSU Extension on July 18th, from 6-8pm. Cost is $10 for non-OKCG members, free for members. RSVP to our Garden Manager.

Seeking Board Members

The Garden Project of SWCO is looking for board members with a variety of interests, talents and expertise to help grow our organization. If interested, please fill out the application and email it to our Director no later than July 31st. 

The Garden Project would like to thankBeth Saren for serving on the Board of Directors for four years and serving as Board President and Eileen Dawson for serving on the Board of Directors for three years and serving as Board Treasurer. Thank you for all of your time and dedication to our organization!
James Ranch Harvest Grill is hosting a fun family event at their ranch on Tuesday, July 23 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm to benefit the Cooking Matters Colorado Program.
