What: Tour de Farms highlights what is unique, healthy and homegrown in our agricultural and gardening community.

Bike Route Options

6-mile: "Family Friendly" ride visiting backyard gardens, community gardens and farms in town.

25-mile: Leisurely ride visiting backyard gardens, farms and hoop houses in the Animas Valley.

Featuring: Discussions with growers, Local food lunch by Zia Taqueria, Beer from Ska, Root beer from Carver Brewing, Commemorative pint glass, and live music by Six Dollar String Band!

Wild Wisdom of Weeds Workshop by Katrina Blair

Monday, August 17th 6 - 8pm at the Ohana Kuleana Community Garden
"When Katrina Blair was eleven she had a life-changing experience where wild plants spoke to her, beckoning her to become a champion of their cause. Since then she has spent months on end taking walkabouts in the wild, eating nothing but what she forages, and has become a wild-foods advocate, community activist, gardener, and chef, teaching and presenting internationally about foraging and the healthful lifestyle it promotes." Founder of Turtle Lake Refuge and author of The Wild Wisdom of Weeds: 13 Essential Plants for Human Survival.

Every Wednesdays through October, 10 am - Noon.
Held at Manna Soup Kitchen: 1100 Avendia del Sol. More info here.
Our first Jr. Gardener's Summer Camp was a hit!

The kids had so much fun at the Needham Garden this summer!

Activities included a ladybug release, plant parts yoga, slip-n-slide, and compost nachos!

Cooking Matters has been leading a 6-week cooking course for families at Manna Soup Kitchen who are participating in our weekly Garden Share Program.

Families have been taking home fresh boxes of produce, groceries, recipes and most importantly the new found cooking skills to prepare their own healthy food every week!
