I hope you are having a wonderful summer! We have spent the past few months preparing for NextGen Cleantech, our big cleantech showcase that we do as part of NYC Climate Week during the evening of September 24th. This year we are excited to announce that we will be working with some of our close partners in the cleantech ecosystem to make this event bigger and better. CEBIP, Cleantech Open, the NYSERDA Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program, and M-Corps will be joining us as sponsors and collaborators. With our combined networks of startups, mentors, and industry professionals, we expect to have over 60 startups showcasing and more than 250 attendees in total. We hope you will be able to join us as we celebrate the coming together of so many wonderful programs (register here)!
Normally this time of year we would be busy with application recruitment, but PowerBridgeNY is entering the last year of funding, so we will not be accepting new applications. Instead, we will continue to work with our most recent awardees through September 2020 when the program will officially wind down. It has been a wonderful run with some truly phenomenal startups having come out of the program. We have put roughly $4M of direct funding into our awardees who have collectively gone on to receive ~$38M in grants and venture investments. Those numbers will only continue to climb as all of our teams continue to work toward commercialization. With the program coming to a close, we hope you have all the more reason to join us for NextGen Cleantech on September 24th to celebrate these past 6 wonderful years!

Calling all experts in telecom! Cycle 6 awardee EINO is looking for a mentor who has experience working with one or more of the major telecom providers to help the team understand the ecosystem better. They are hoping to work with one of these major companies down the line, so they would like to know more about how decisions are made. If you or someone you know is interested in helping out this wonderful team, please hit reply on this email or reach out to Julia Byrd (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Need another reason to work with this exciting team? They recently won an NSF Phase I SBIR award - congratulations to them!
Cycle 3 awardee and Ignition Grant recipient Manifold Robotics is looking for a CEO or someone with business development experience interested in joining the team. They have an SBIR Phase I award from the NSF that is covering some additional technical development, but they have an autonomous robot that is ready for sale right now, so they are looking for someone who knows the water quality monitoring space to assist them. They are currently targeting engineering firms that are conducting bathymetric surveys, but there are many other market opportunities for the company as well. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to founder Jeff Laut (email@example.com).
Cycle 5 awardee SolarClear recently spent some time at Arizona State University testing their active solar panel cleaning technology under a variety of conditions. The results were extremely promising - up to 93% cleaning efficiency with a current prototype when humidity is less than 80%! The picture to the right depicts Entrepreneurial Lead Shrish Patel seeing how the panels coated with the SolarClear technology are faring out in the field.

Educating and empowering people to create a more sustainable world
We recently were given a tour by the wonderful folks at Riverside Church, which is where the PowerBridgeNY offices at Columbia University are based. This is the view of the top of the bell tower. Though our offices do not have quite as nice a view, we can still see Grant's tomb and the Hudson River - we hope you stop by to see sometime!
