Join us for PBNY Awards Night on April 24th!

April 2019

This month, we have selected the teams that will be moving forward to Pitch Day. All of the applications showed significant improvement over their pre-proposals, but some of them still need work on their business models or technology development before being ready to take full advantage of PBNY. We wish all of those teams not moving forward luck with their projects and will continue to support them with introductions and invitations to our educational and networking events to help them continue to progress.

The teams moving forward are all preparing diligently for their pitches that will be on April 24th. While the full-length pitches will be a private session with our Judges during the day, we are hosting a public Awards Night where we will announce which teams will receive up to $150K in funding. The audience will have the chance to weigh in by voting for which 2-minute pitch should win the $1K Audience Prize. We hope you will be able to join us in celebrating these wonderful budding entrepreneurs! More information on all of the teams moving forward can be found below.

In other bittersweet news, I am both proud and saddened to announce that at the end of this month Lilly Belanger will be leaving PowerBridgeNY to attend the University of Tennessee. She will be participating in a dual degree program to earn her MBA and an MS in Agricultural Economics. She has been a valued member of the PBNY team for nearly two years, helping in every aspect of running the program from mentoring teams to devising new curriculum for awardees to coordinating workshops and networking events. She plans to continue to work in innovation and sustainability in the South, so we are sure she will go on to do great things! Please join me in congratulating Lilly and wishing her the best for all her future endeavors!
