🥵 How hot is a typical Denver summer?
Denver hit its first 90-degree day of the year over the weekend (woof!). Forecasters expect temps to continue to hover in the upper 80s all week long, and it will likely only get hotter from here. In the last six years Denver has had a higher-than-average amount of 90-degree days, including a record-breaking 75 in 2020. [9News]

💵 And the first winner of the vaccine sweepstakes is…
On Friday, officials announced healthcare data analyst Sally Sliger from Mead as the first winner of the Colorado Comeback Cash program. Sliger was randomly selected to receive $1 million from Colorado’s pool of vaccinated residents as part of the state’s COVID vaccine sweepstakes. There will be four more drawings, with winners announced June 11, 18, 25 and July 7. [CO Sun]

🚲 Denver bike thefts on the rise
Nearly 600 Denverites have already reported their bikes stolen in 2021. This time last year, that number was 643, and by the end of summer it jumped up to almost 1,000. According to city data, bike thefts have increased 49% since 2017, with Five Points, Cap Hill, and Union Station among the hardest hit areas.
