Message from the Headteacher

Welcome back to a new spring term. I hope you all had an excellent Christmas and New Year; I certainly did as my boys were home, joined later by their girlfriends and my Father-in-Law stayed for the festive period too. The highlight for me as always, is sitting around the table enjoying a lovely meal and chatting (a touch of arrogance there as I did most of the cooking). We would still be sat there a couple of hours after the meal was finished; I loved it.

There does come a time when everything goes back to normal and we return to our daily activities. Back at school, our staff development day on Wednesday was a fantastic start to the new term. We also received news that the Year 9 Rugby Cup Final will be played here at CNS on Monday 16th January with a 2.30pm kick off. The final is between ourselves and Wymondham College so please come along to support us.

You may not be aware that Professor Barry Ife (Principal of The Guildhall School of Music and Drama) was awarded a Knighthood in the 2017 New Year Honours List, for services to performing arts education. Noted in this recognition, was his work in developing music in Norfolk (which CNS has so greatly benefitted from) so our congratulations go to Sir Barry for this well-deserved acknowledgement.

After a very short but busy school week, I hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Jim Nixon
