Let’s Make Beautiful Water Together.

We know green roofs, you know watersheds.

Minnesota Green Roofs Council wants to meet with you, the experts on Minnesota watersheds. We both want to reduce stormwater and improve our watershed quality, but where does our respective expertise cross paths? How do your goals of strong, healthy watershed intersect with our goals of increasing the viability of vegetative green roofs as sustainable, building strategy?

Let’s meet!

• to discuss the current impact of green roofs in your watershed
• to share ideas on how green roofs can help you achieve your watershed goals in the future

We’ll start with a tour of the Penfield Apartment green roof in downtown Saint Paul, followed by an informal discussion facilitated by Wes Saunders-Pearce, the Water Resource Coordinator for the City of Saint Paul.

Here’s a few of the goals for the evening:

- Gain understanding among our organizations
- Increase awareness of vegetated green roofs and the obstacles in building them
- Discuss influence on legislation and funding options
- Network with watersheds, agencies, design community members

Please join us! Together, we’ll accelerate progress toward our shared goals.

Facilitator: Wes Saunders-Pearce is the Water Resource Coordinator for the City of Saint Paul. He joined Saint Paul in 2011 after practicing water resource management for over a decade mainly as a consultant. Wes provides inter-departmental leadership for green infrastructure, water resource protection, and climate resiliency strategies. Wes holds a Master’s degree in Water Resource Science from the University of Minnesota and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from Macalester College in Saint Paul.
