New Storage System Coming in 2014

The Research Computing Center has teamed up with the SSERCA Alliance and DataDirect Networks to bring a new, high-capacity, general purpose storage system to Florida State University. This new storage system will fill enhance the ability to provide reliable, general purpose storage to researchers across the university, including but not limited to:
  • offloading data from existing high-performance storage systems;
  • cloud storage provisioning for virtual servers in the SKY system;
  • high-speed data replication to other SSERCA universities over the Florida LamdaRail; and
  • dropbox-like access to large data sets.
We will be implementing the new system in the first half of 2014.
