As we look back on 2015, it has been a busy year for our organization comprising: Planet Hatch, Knowledge Park and Ignite Fredericton. We’ve helped create 33 new startups and attracted two new companies to the Fredericton Region, translating to 127 new jobs in our community!

These jobs have a tremendous economic impact - generating $5.7 M in GDP and spin-offs like $127,000 in restaurant spending and $255,000 for recreation/entertainment.  As these jobs stay in our community and continue to grow, we will see additional spin-offs, like 118 newly constructed houses by 2017.

Building upon our acceleration of high-growth start-ups through programs such as Launch and Build with PropelICT, we have made additional enhancements to Planet Hatch which further strengthen our approach to help startups.  We have located all of our startup services to Planet Hatch with a dedicated focus as shown below.

We’re ramping up for a busy 2016 with an expanded suite of programming, now including the Startup Visa.  Watch for the Planet Hatch newsletter in 2016 to stay up-to-date on exciting startup related events and initiatives - like the new ‘Startup Socials’ being led by Startup Task Force and our Christmas Social.

We will also continue with Ignite Fredericton’s newsletter bringing you important information about local business and population growth initiatives.

Happy Holidays, and wishing you all the best for 2016. Mark your calendars for our 2015 Christmas Social - RSVP below!
