Fall on the horizon!

I can feel the the early signs of fall, some of the tree leaves are beginning to change color. Cooler air is also sweeping down from Canada! We had a hot summer here in the Pacific NW, I can tell most people here are not used to heat. A lot of people here do not have air-conditioning, I am grateful that I do. Due to the heat and sun, the berry season has been exceptional and they are sweet and oh, so mouthwatering!

Your recycle tip.

As fall is approaching, it's a good idea to save the fallen leaves as mulch for your garden. This has a two fold advantage, you don't have to bag the leaves, and they provide a warm blanket for your foliage during winter. Each year millions of bags filled with leaves end up in landfills. This is a terrible waste of a natural, rich, organic resource.

Musings.

I am in the middle of re-landscaping my front and backyards. I want to apply all the Feng Shui principles to my outdoor living space. It needs to be a tranquil, meditative space with meandering paths. I have decided that my creative energies need to be directed into making pebble mosaics for the paths! The only problem with that is-- I will need pebbles! A long time ago I had made a vow never to pick rocks from their native habitat only to be transported to Oklahoma. I am a recovering "Rockoholic"! Now, once again I am tempted to bring home souvenirs from far off lands. I think, I will have to make do with the pebbles I have in my yard presently, I don't really want to fall off the wagon! It is wonderful to express one's creative urgings in different mediums. I will attach pictures once I have completed my mosaics! Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you have been up to?

Enjoy the tail end of summer!
Sunita.

Since, this month we are talking about "purse love", here is a Feng Shui tip for you; never place your purse on the floor, not only for the germ factor, but because your money slips away from you! So, lift up that purse!
Can you guess which one is me? This photo was taken while we lived in Nairobi, Kenya. I was almost 7 years old. That is the toy horse I would ride daily!
