Happy Spring, Gardeners!

Welcome to the new subscribers! It's time for garden planning so we can get to planting next month! Let's hope for better weather this year.

Last spring, we had a lot of snow, then record heat and drought in June and July, and a cold rainy month of August. Then the fall was long and warm. Far from ideal growing conditions!

So here's to a lush, productive, and delicious 2017! Start with the seed swap this month!
Seed School Online

Last fall, I was in Seed School Online with Bill McDorman of the Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance. He also organized the Mountain West Seed Summit that was in Santa Fe last weekend. He knows his seeds!

The class I took was 7 weeks long and full of information on seed saving. We got turned on to books, sites, farms, seed stewards, and organizations that are dedicated to maintaining biodiversity. People were asking me to let them know when it would run again.

Well, just this month, Bill released Seed School Online as a program you can do at your own pace. Now is a good time to dive into it, while you are gearing up for a new season.

It's only $47, and worth so much more! It's money well spent. You won't be sorry. I highly recommend it!! Read more details from Bill about this new version of
Seed School Online. It will be hard to say no!
Starts!

You can order CSA shares of starts and seeds! Spring shares will be ready the last week of April, and summer shares at the end of May. You can also special order whatever you want.
Heirloom Gardener Magazine

Starting with the current issue, Spring 2017, I will have a series of articles on the history of the components of the Three Sisters, and finally a detailed wrap up on this efficient way to plant corn, beans, and squash. Subscribe or watch their Facebook page to read them!
Seed Exchange Stations

There is only one seed exchange station open now at the Habitat ReStore. We have expanded it, so please visit!

Renee's Garden Seeds are available at the Dixon Market, KOKO, and Taos Market. There are new items this year, too! You can buy packages with 3 or 5 packets of seed in them, but there are also individual packets for sale. All non-GMO!

Here's to a great growing season!
