APRIL 3, 2020
It's been a week, hasn't it? I'm incredibly grateful each day hasn't required anything more than sweatpants and swipe of mascara—but after challenging myself to get somewhat dressed every morning, even I'll admit I underestimated the power of a good outfit to alter your mood. (Note that in quarantine, we can use the term "outfit" loosely.) If you've been wearing the same sweatpants for more than five days now—no judgments, though—consider putting yourself in a new mindset by putting on a new sweater, silky top, or perhaps even a slip dress. See below for a few simple ideas for dressing up your day.

1. Button down.
Grab your softest, worn-in button-down and toss it over a slick a pair of leggings (or a bodysuit, which I've recently determined I need). If your Zoom meetings call for it, a pretty pair of pearl earrings will add a touch of polish.

2. Cozy slips.
Switch up your sweatpant uniform by slipping into the slip dress that's been banished to the back of your closet for the foreseeable future. Just cozy it up with your chunkiest sweater and a snuggly pair of socks.
SWEATER Mango, $80 DRESS Lulus, $44 NECKLACE Mejuri, $255 SOCKS J.Crew, $15
3. Fancy sweats.
Since you're spending so much time on Instagram now, anyways, take a cue from your favorite influencers and dress up your sweats with some chunky jewelry (and chunky shoes for your daily walk). Add a blazer over your bodysuit if you're Zooming with your boss. When you're not on a call, toss the matching sweatshirt on instead.
BLAZER H&M, $50 BODYSUIT Summersalt, $45 SWEATPANTS Gildan, $10 SHOES New Balance, $75 CHAIN NECKLACE Aurate, $300 PENDANT NECKLACE Aurate, $300 BRACELET Shashi, $42
4. Lighten up.
While waistbands have been canceled for the foreseeable future, a pair of loose, elastic trousers will be comfy all day yet put you in a more professional mindset. Add a color-coordinating sweater, because monochrome outfits will make you feel even richer when worn at home (no matter what your job security currently looks like).

5. Silky separates.
Another creative approach to your WFH wear: Try swapping your 100% cotton hoodies for a head-to-toe silk look. Maybe they're your pajamas. Your coworkers don't have to know.
