Community Building through
Sharing and Shopping! 

 
Dear AWFH members and friends,
 
I wish to give a big shout out to those who volunteered at the 6/28 Wellness Fair and for purchasing the Shop for a Cause discount pass to support Asian Women for Health!
 
We plan to have our own July Celebration by holding a Community Potluck Picnic Palooza by the Charles River near the Anderson Memorial Bridge (a 10 minute walk from Harvard Square) next Saturday, 7/11 from 11 to 3pm.
 
Please feel free to bring outdoor equipments, musical instruments or lead a group activity (yoga, meditation, sing-along, dancercise, etc.)
 
Some of the planned activities include:
Healthy Picnic Food Fest (top 3 get a gift certificate to Volare in Revere)
Water Melon eating contest
Hula hoops relay (if you have a hula hoop, please bring it!)
kite-flying, frisbees
 
I hope you and your family can join us next Saturday and look forward to catching up with you by the river!!
 
P.S. If you can't join us at the 7/11 event, please come to our annual meeting at the Hostel International (19 Stuart Street, Boston) 7pm on Monday, 7/20 by RSVP at cch@asianwomenforhealth.org
 
* Volunteers Needed to help with arts & craft activities at AWFH upcoming outreach event at the Seafood festival (link to the attached flyer) on Sunday, 8/2 - attend the event for free with food vouchers!! If interested, please email cch@asianwomenforhealth.org for more info.

AWFH is looking volunteers and sponsors/advertisers for CelebrASIANS, our annual benefit fashion show. Twenty Asian cancer/trauma survivors will share their inspiring stories and aspirations as they model and showcase the creations of leading Asian designers.

Pass entitles shopper to 25% off all purchases. Limited exclusions apply and are

Meet... Priyanka Gupta!
Priyanka Gupta is a public health professional and a program development, communication and grant writing volunteer for Asian Women for Health. She is passionate towards women & child health rights, hence, relate to the mission of holistic health  approach of Asian Women for Health. Priyanka likes to empower women by educating them and teaching advocacy to them. Her area of interest include program management, medical research, health system strengthening and community capacity building.

She has received a doctor's degree from India and has completed Master's in Public Health from Drexel University with Dean's Scholarship. She worked as program manager and monitoring & evaluation specialist in World Health Organization for two years. During her tenure, Priyanka implemented mother - child health care programs and advocated for complete routine immunization for children. 

Priyanka is a certified tutor and trained small to large group of medical and non-medical staff in program conduction and health education.  Priyanka loves to cook ethnic foods, enjoy music and read novels. She lives with her husband, Joydeep, in Allston and we both like traveling.
