We're Nothing Without You

We sat down with Peter, a Columbia Heights resident and loyal rider, to take a closer look at one customer’s DC Circulator experience. Here’s what he had to say…

“I’ve taken it so many times that I can’t remember the first, but I can remember enjoying the view from the rear wrap-around windows and the face-to-face seating."  Peter sees the service as the perfect way to reach DC’s most popular destinations and often recommends the service to locals and tourists since it’s easy to navigate and reasonably priced. "My friends and I take the Woodley Park–Adams Morgan–McPherson Square route to visit our favorite food and entertainment hotspots!”

Peter offers the following tips to fellow riders:
  • Use a SmarTrip®card. It makes boarding quick and easy and riders receive free transfers within a two-hour time period.
  • Use the SmarTrip® Automatic Reload feature and you’ll always have $1 available to cover your DC Circulator ride.

Weathering Winter

In an effort to better prepare you for winter weather, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has improved the DC Circulator's inclement weather alerts.
This year, when inclement weather affects service on any route it will receive a unique preset detour.

The detours are categorized by the level of service that can be safely operated on each route. The categories are Light, Moderate or Severe. The detour status of each route will be published on the DCCirculator.com homepage. In addition to the homepage, each route and its Light, Moderate and Severe weather detours will be prominently displayed on our new Inclement Weather page.

Throughout the season, we will #Alert riders on Twitter and Facebook of all inclement weather service changes using the Light, Moderate and Severe detour categories.

To become familiar with your route's inclement weather detours, stay tuned to DCCirculator.com for updates.
