Nationally Safeguarding Adults week is the last week in November, however we know that to put every session on in the one week limits people to being able to attend as many as they would have liked, so we have decided to spread them across November. I have also included the link to either book or in most cases to just join the Microsoft Teams meeting, I hope this helps everyone to join as many as they can.

Volunteering

Re-Engage: Are Looking for Volunteers to Help Our Activity Groups for the over 75’s in West Yorkshire!
Re-engage is a national charity dedicated to ending loneliness and social isolation. Our activity groups bring people over 75 together in local communities across West Yorkshire to help reduce loneliness, social isolation and improve physical wellbeing. Our groups rely on the support of volunteers to bring together communities and engage in activities such as gentle exercise, tai chi, gardening, walking or a game of boules. Our fortnightly or monthly groups are free to attend and we provide light refreshments to enjoy.
Our groups are expanding all across West Yorkshire and we’re looking for coordinators, drivers and other volunteers to deliver activities to help host our groups or help launch a new one in Calderdale.
Volunteering opportunity: A helping hand at St Augustine's Centre
Many of those who come to St Augustine's for support are from outside of the UK and speak other languages. Supporting them to make connections in our community involves time, patience and some understanding of the challenges that those seeking sanctuary face.
You could help someone learn English, find out where the Doctors are, the best places to shop, the nice places to go for a walk, the fun places to relax and have a laugh... And so much more!
