VSI Alliance: Calderdale VSCE Assembly - 17th November 
You are invited to attend the second meeting of the VSCE Assembly on Thursday 17 November 2022, 1- 3 pm.  Learn more about the new Calderdale Cares Board arrangements (integrated health and social care partnership at place) see how your organisation contributes to the overall wellbeing of individuals and the surrounding environment. A chance to share your views and influence future decisions.

VSI Alliance Training: Budget Setting & Forecasting 31st October 2022

This course will introduce participants to budgeting and cash flow forecasting

The course will cover:

  • What is a budget
  • How budgeting links to business planning
  • How to prepare expenditure and income budgets
  • Budget formats
  • Using budgets to monitor and control income and expenditure
  • The differences between budgeting and cash-flow forecasting
  • Preparing a cash-flow forecast
  • Cash-flow forecast format

Autumn Covid Vaccination Boosters - Download the PDF
Like all vaccines, the protection offered by the COVID vaccinations will decrease over time. Autumn boosters are an extra dose of the vaccine that is given to ‘boost’ protection against the virus and ensure those at greatest risk from COVID-19 are Although the COVID-19 vaccines have made it possible to return to the lives we knew before the pandemic began, the virus is still with us and is still making people very ill. Winter is the season when the threat from COVID-19 is greatest for individuals and communities as viruses spread much more easily, so it is important that everyone eligible tops up their protection with an autumn booster

Henry Smith Charity Funding Virtual Workshop - Weds 16 November 10am - 11.30am
Henry Smith Charity will be delivering a presentation with the chance for Q&A on Wednesday 16th November! The Henry Smith Charity aims to use its resources to help people and communities at a time of need and to bring about positive change. They fund organisations that work with people to reduce social and economic disadvantage.

From consultation to co-production: Participation and engagement workshops
Age Friendly Calderdale and Calderdale Council have teamed up with Ideas Alliance to deliver a training programme to support people working with older people or provide valuable support in Calderdale to develop their skills in involving older people in the Age Friendly programme. We are keen that older people contribute to the decisions that affect them and have spaces and outlets through which they can actively engage in discussions about the Age Friendly programme’s ambitions and direction.

Women in innovation awards 2022 to 2023 - Closing 19th October
Women with exciting, innovative ideas who will inspire others can apply for an award which includes a £50,000 grant and bespoke business support.
 

Innovate UK Smart Grants - Closing 26th October
UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £25 million for game-changing and commercially viable research and development (R&D) innovation that can significantly impact the UK economy.

Clarion Housing: Clarion Futures Invites Applications for Youth Project Grants - Closing 20th October 
The Youth Project Fund aims to empower young people aged 25 and under, support their health and wellbeing and improve access to opportunities and education.

Rosa: Inviting Applications for Campaigning and Influencing Work - Closing 3rd November
The Voices from the Frontline fund is a one-year programme supporting grassroots activism and awareness-raising of issues facing women and girls in the UK. Grants of £500 to £7,000 are on offer, with the expectation that around 30 to 40 grants will be made. Women's sector voluntary and community organisations in the UK are eligible to apply, providing they are constituted and run by, for and with women.

Esmee Fairburn - Reopening Date for Grants for a Fairer Future - Closing 12th November
Funding to tackle injustice and structural inequality to create a more inclusive society. After releasing details of its new funding strategy in July 2022, the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation has now announced the Fairer Future grants stream will once again be accepting applications from October 2022.

National Lottery Community Fund: Climate Action Fund
The National Lottery Community Fund is running a funding programme called the Climate Action Fund to help communities across the UK combat climate change. They're looking to support projects that focus on the link between nature and climate, especially those that use nature to encourage more community led climate action. 

Kellogg’s School Breakfast Club Fund Reopens for Applications
Kellogg’s, in partnership with Forever Manchester, is offering grants of up to £1,000 to schools to help fund breakfast clubs across the UK and ensure that children who need it most receive a morning meal.

Northpoint: Service Support Administrator - Closing 27th October
Northpoint Wellbeing is  one of the largest charitable providers of therapeutic services in the region, working with adults, children and young people. Our vision is a society where people experiencing mental health problems, distress, or disturbance can receive the support they need at the time they need it.  
 
We are experiencing rapid growth and we have an exciting new opportunity for a Service Support Administrator  to join our Open Minds Team in Calderdale. You will  provide admin support to our therapeutic and management team, liaising with colleagues, service users and partner agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.   

Volunteering  

Volunteering Together: Inclusive Volunteering and Disabled People - Download the PDF 
This research will help organisations better understand the background and needs of disabled people, open up positive volunteering opportunities for disabled people and address harmful stereotypes and disparities.
