Special Prayer Request
In 2015 I went to Nepal for the first time to help with earthquake relief and to set up Vision Rehab Center in Kathmandu, a Christian discipleship program for men and women suffering from substance abuse. VRC is the only Christian rehab in a predominately Hindu nation. In April I will be traveling back to Nepal for the first time since the pandemic. I will be going with two mission projects in mind:
- To visit the city of Dhuran with the intention of setting up a second rehab (yes a second rehab, praise Jesus!) I will be meeting with some Christian leaders in the area and conducting an Inner Healing conference using The Genesis Process and Dunklin curriculum
- To take some of the men and staff from VRC on an Inner Healing trek in the Langtang valley. It is a 10 day trek and we have coordinated this trek with some YWAM missionaries already in Nepal.
My Travel dates are April 27th to May 18th. My prayer request is for safe travel for all of us, that God will receive all the glory, that Jesus will be magnified in the hearts of all we encounter, that we hear God's voice clearly and for the finances to cover the trip. My budget for the mission trip is approximately $6,000. Right now I am currently at about 40% of my budgeted expenses to cover myself and the 7 Nepali with me. Will you please consider donating specifically to this mission trip? Just click the donation button.
Our pastor at our church has been going through the book of Acts since the beginning of the year. Last Sunday he finished the book of Acts and will start in Romans...as he finished the book of Acts and was wrapping up his comments about Paul and his life, he stated "Paul's finish line is our starting line". I couldn't agree more. We are to take the gospel to all nations no matter the cost. Those words have stayed with me as I prepare to enter a Hindu nation and proclaim the victory of Jesus Christ over sin and death, call for repentance and ask others to invite Jesus in to those unreached areas of their hearts and their lives. The last verse in Acts states of Paul "preaching the Kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him."...no one forbidding him!
Grace, Peace and Love,
Joel, Tara. Caroline and Christopher
