HAPPY NEW YEAR!  

eS4W is looking forward to producing some high quality work and results over the next 6 months, with projects that are relevant to our broad spectrum of members.

In the month of January eS4W has:
  • Participated in the the consultation on proposed Paid Parental Leave scheme
  • Welcomed the new NATSIWA team
During the month of February eS4W will be:
  • Participating in the Second National Action Plan for Violence Against Women Roundtables in Adelaide and Canberra
  • Providing a submission on Child Care (Productivity Commission)
  • Continuing to work with WGEA on Gender Pay Equity

STATUS ON PROJECTS

Women and Girls into non-traditional occupations and industries - Career Exploration project
  • eS4W received 19 applications in response to our Request for Proposal to prepare a paper a paper / report on school- based initiatives across Australia encouraging girls into non- traditional occupations, education and training (STEM and VET).
  • An Advisory Group has been formed and the members are:  Sandra Dann (SAWWC); Roselynne Anderson (AWE), Lynda Roberts-Hall (AFGW) and Samiro Douglas (WIRE).  Sally Jope, in her position as eS4W's EO will guide the Advisory Group throughout the project.
  • Interviews of the 3 applications that have been shortlisted will be conducted in the first week of the project.

Collaboration project – National Women’s Alliance’s International engagement from global to local

This project is a joint project of all the National Women’s Alliances to encourage our members and other women’s organisations to engage in international human rights processes and to use the results of those processes in their domestic work.  For further information - click here

Gender equity in the workplace: pay equity and retirement savings 

We will begin to produce a set of tools or toolkit for women to assist with their financial literacy and independence. We are aware that some of our member organisations have done extensive research and work in this area.  We look forward to working with our member organisations on this project and will distribute a brief late February.
