Screenworks is calling for Upper Hunter filmmakers and artists with disabilities.
Screenworks, in partnership with ABC Open and the NSW State Government, are proud to announce CREATEABILITY 2016. The key objective of CREATEABILITY 2016 is to provide funded opportunities for filmmakers to profile artists with disabilities living and creating in Regional NSW. The Upper Hunter is one of 5 regions selected.

2015/16 ClubGRANTS Category 3 Arts and Cultural Round – applications close 17 March 2016. 
The 2015/16 ClubGRANTS Category 3 Fund supports the development and upgrade of arts and cultural facilities in local communities across New South Wales. Grants of between $100,000 and $300,000 are available for arts and cultural infrastructure projects. Read more....
Aboriginal History Prize  - entries close 31 March 2016.
The purpose of the inaugural History Council of NSW's Aboriginal History Prize is to encourage students and other young historians (up to post-doctoral career) in the writing of Australian Aboriginal history, including Torres Strait Islander history, from original sources. Read more....

Singleton Writers Group receives funding to publish a second book.
The Singleton Writers Group was recently the grateful recipient of a generous donation from Coal & Allied's Hunter Valley Operations site donations committee. In November, the committee allocated $1500 to the Group for the publication of a collection of stories and poems created by the amateur writers. Read more....
