We hope that you have had a great Easter – if it was anything like mine, you will probably be taking a break from chocolate for a long, long time!! We had a lot of guests in and around the house over the break and while it was great to see everyone, it reminded me that even in my private life the journey to excellence experience requires a need to plan, plan and plan!!

It turns out that our guests had a fantastic weekend and went away with an appreciation, for the time and effort we put in to making them feel looked after.

For me, there are parallels between my private and work life. I enjoy knowing that my extended friends and family have been cared for. And much like the weekend we have just had, working with our members and assisting them on their pathway to excellence is also something I really enjoy.

The Foundation has a number of tools and resources ready to assist you in your journey. Our core business is advising, training and recognising performance excellence, and linking members to members who have already resolved to address their organisational issues head-on, as participants in a multi-sectorial community of excellence.

While we are working hard in the background, continuously improving our member offering, and trying to ensure that there is a tangible return for our members and their employees, we also need you to engage - we have a number of events that are happening over the next few weeks like our knowledge hours and it would be great to see you there.

Collectively if we work to champion performance excellence - we can all go away knowing that we have done our best to contribute to NZ inc

In 2012 a Performance Excellence team was created; this set the foundation for the journey to excellence, using the Baldrige framework.

Managing BOYD and his friend A

In today’s world, BYODA is a business necessity. That’s Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) + “A” as in applications.

And this applies to academic as well as corporate environments. Recently, in a webinar titled as above, Michael Osterman @mosterman of Osterman Research spoke to the scope and importance of this trend using data from primary research done recently by his firm.

He noted that the whole “consumerization of IT” has actually caught a lot of organizations by surprise.  Many are still catching up. Continue Reading.................
