Google Digital Garage helps people improve digital skills

Good Things Foundation is very excited to be working with Google.org and the Google Digital Garage team on an exciting new project, which launched in Sunderland last week.

The first part of a wide-ranging partnership will see our team support Google with the running of their Google Digital Garage training hub in the city, where local people will have the opportunity to learn everything from the basics of using the internet through to developing social media strategies and building their business.

CLARION FUTURES DIGITAL GRANTS FUNDING PROGRAMME

Clarion Futures Digital Team is committed to getting residents online; giving them the basic digital skills and access to equipment and connectivity to safely and confidently access online services on a regular basis.

As part of their digital focus, their Clarion Future Digital Grant programme is now open for applications. Grants between £1,000 and £5,000 will be available to organisations working in Clarion Housing areas, seeking to deliver innovative, well-designed projects that support Clarion residents and the wider community to address digital exclusion.

The fund is designed to support residents and communities to get and stay online and to use the internet as an everyday tool, safely and confidently.
