The clocks have finally gone forward, the days are getting longer and lighter and we’re only hours away from a bank holiday weekend - I’m very much looking forward to it and hope you are too! 

One of the things a lot of people will be doing this weekend is completing their online Census questionnaire. Although the official Census Day was Sunday 21 March, there are actually a few weeks left for people to complete.

As this year’s Census is ‘digital first’, I’m very proud that we’ve been managing the first Census Support Service. Hundreds of Online Centres across the country are providing free, friendly, local help to anyone who needs support filling in their questionnaire.

If you know someone who needs help with the Census - or you just want to tell your community about the service, please do let everyone know they can find their nearest centre here.

HMRC funding opportunity - application deadline 9th April

You have until 12pm on Friday 9th April to apply for funding to provide extra help in understanding and complying with their tax obligations and claiming their entitlements, including those who are digitally excluded.

Members of the network can apply for various contract sizes of up to £8,000. We recommend you read the application guidance full before applying on the Online Centres Network website.

Applications for the Tech4Good Awards are now open!

This year Good Things Foundation is sponsoring the Community Impact category, which celebrates the people using digital tech to create positive change within their communities. 

We know a lot of centres who have done just that over the past year, so get applying! You can find out more about the Community Impact award and the nine other categories in this year’s awards on the Tech4Good website. Entries are open until the 5th of May.
