Hello <<First Name>>

Each year, when we come to planning our training offer for the Online Centres Network, we ask you to complete this short survey to let us know about your current training needs. This really helps to inform our upcoming training plan - both for webinars and any face to face training we're able to provide.

What you want, or need, is our most important consideration. We'd be really grateful if you could spend just 5 or 10 minutes answering these questions - this is your chance to feed into the free training offer that is one of your key membership benefits.

LAUNCH OF NEW POWER UP PROJECTS

We’re proud to announce the 15 exciting new Power Up projects that have been funded to tackle the digital skills gap. Power Up aims to drive economic and social inclusion through improved digital skills, with projects located in four areas of the UK: Bournemouth, East London, Edinburgh and Glasgow. It was developed based on extensive research conducted by Good Things Foundation, which identified needs, priorities and gaps in provision.

The initiative is the first of its kind to embed digital into existing support for employability, financial inclusion and small businesses. It will build on and strengthen existing provision, contribute to local systems change and develop strong local partnerships, leaving a sustainable legacy of digital skills support.

A general election is coming!

As you'll know, a general election has been called for 12 December 2019. During this period, we will be pushing for a commitment to a 100% digitally included nation from all political parties - and we need your help!

We’re asking centres to support our general election campaign on social media. You can find resources and a social media guide on our website, and we’d love for you to share our new infographic with the hashtag #BridgingtheDigitalDivide.

We’re also asking centres to write to their local prospective parliamentary candidates, and invite them for a centre visit. Building relationships across political parties can encourage support for your centre as the successful candidate will go on to represent your constituency, whilst unsuccessful candidates may become your MP at a later date. It will help us raise the profile of our digital inclusion work as well. We have some more detailed guidance on our website, along with a template letter you can send to your candidates.
