Hello <<First Name>>

We know many of you value our training offer which is one of the key benefits of being part of the network. Each year when we plan our training, we consider the needs of our community partners, so we can shape the training that we offer. We’ve put together a short survey so you can tell us what you would like to see over the next year.

This year we’ve tried to make sure we’ve been responsive to the changing circumstances, tailoring our training, adding new webinars such as remote delivery support and fundraising surgeries. We’ve also tried to ensure that there have been opportunities for you to get together online, having had to cancel all our planned face-to-face network events.

Please do spend 5 minutes completing our survey which is your opportunity to inform our training offer so it can better support your organisation, your staff and the people that you help.

Best wishes
Helen Milner

Centre of the month - Colebrook Sw ltd
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CENTRE OF THE MONTH

A huge congratulations to our Centre of the Month
Colebrook SW Ltd. Colleagues at the centre are doing a great job supporting individuals remotely and are currently devising a remote support programme so they can increase their outreach. They are continuously going above and beyond to meet their clients needs which is helping to tackle digital exclusion in their area. To recognise all of the hard work and to thank the team at Colebrook SW Ltd, we will be sending the centre an Amazon voucher.

Wales Probation Service - Researching Adult Education Provision

We are currently working with Wales Probation Service to support individuals to learn essential digital skills, as part of their work around education, training and employment. They are currently working to identify adult education provision across Wales, so they can offer the best possible opportunities.

As the current pandemic has changed the way in which organisations offer support, the team are looking to identify the types of support currently available and what might be on offer in the near future, and extend their offer to cover a wider variety of opportunities. They are asking for you, our community partners, to get in touch about:

  • How you run Learn My Way sessions (and other areas that you support individuals in) within your organisation

  • How you feel about working with Wales Probation Service to offer opportunities to individuals

If this is something that you feel you would be interested in, please get in touch with colleagues depending on your area:

ACCESSIBILITY - NEXT GENERATION OF LEARN MY WAY

As we continue to  develop the next generation of Learn My Way, we are working hard to ensure our courses are as accessible as possible.

We’d now like feedback from organisations that have previously worked on accessibility projects, to help us review our ALT tags. We want to know that these are effective for different audiences and so your feedback would be appreciated.

If you would be willing to share your expertise and help us review these, please contact our Learning Designer, Matthew Airey at

LOOKING FOR A FUNDING OPPORTUNITY? VISIT OUR UK GRANTS DATABASE

Earlier this year we launched our
UK grants database which hosts lots of funding opportunities from a range of funders across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. You can search by UK nation to find opportunities closer to your location and there’s a COVID-19 tab so you can search for opportunities to support your organisation through the current pandemic. We’ve also added a BAME grants tab so you can search for funding to support specific communities.

Our database is regularly updated and easy to use - you’ll find a step by step guide on how to use the database on the first tab of the spreadsheet. If you are aware of any funding opportunities that aren’t on our database that you think our community partners would benefit from then please get in touch with us at
hello@goodthingsfoundation.org.
